The reason why your mechanic is charging you this much is because he knows that he has to also drop your transmission to get back behind your engine for the header install.

$125 is actualy a good price for install thumbsup

An install guide can be found in the installs section spineyes

I didn't drop my transmission.

Vtec, what I did...
-I put the car on jack stands,
-took off the valve cover plastic, and then the valve cover
-I then disconnected the header from the exhaust
-Take off the heat shields
-Worked from the top taking off the nuts holding it to the block
-Took off that bracket towards the bottom holding it to the block
-and slipped it out the top.
- I then reversed the procdure putting it back in, but make sure you have some silicone to put on the corners of your valve cover when you put it back on.

Imagine what you could buy with that 125. I would get me that motor mount or a Short shifter, or the AEM pulley, or some gauges, or some LEDs, or some underbody neons, or some celeb graphics, or save up for some suspension parts or the greddy emanage and other electrical stuff. Damn. 125 can go a long ways.
Just if you install it yourself, have some patience. It took me about 4 hours, but I didn't have to mess with the tranny or suspension. The heat shields were a pain to get off, thats what took me so long. You just don't have much room to work with. If you have any questions though man, hit me up. I'll help you out.

What exactly would you need for air tools? A compressor and the tool attachments? Anyone know the cost?

Important...If anyone does this install themselves, put the car up on jack stands! It is very imprtant to do this. Do not think that a jack will hold the car up. Remember that you are doing this at your own risk and I am not liable for any injury or anything else.

Compressors will range from prices and so will air tools, depending on brand names. Compressors will run around 500ish and tools will be at least $100. Tools are not cheap at all.
