Aight guys. Here we go. I need to replace my 5sfe as well as my tranny(grinds). My friend owns a celica as well and was going to upgrade to a 5sfe from the 1.6L. he purchased a used 5sfe out of a 91 Mr2 (2.2L). He completely rebuilt the engine which was done with care and precision as to my knowledge. He gave up on the idea due to avaliabilty of a wiring harness. He couldn't find one for a reasonable price.
So here's where i step in. i want to buy the rebuilt 5sfe from him. Which was out of the 91 MR2. I'd like to put it in my 1993 Celica GT. I've heard this will work o.k. as long as i install engine with my intake manifold.
Now for the tranny. I still need a tranny and he has a GOOD tranny out of the 91 MR2 off of the 5sfe motor. Only problem is the linkage on the casing is reversed due to engine being in the rear of mr2's. Would it be possible to take the outside casing of my 93 celica GT and put it on the tranny of the 91 MR2??

All i can say is i've been waiting a year for this project and would completely appreciate any feedback anyone would be willing to give. If you see any problem with any part of this please speek up...anything appreciated...thanx guys!!

how much were you planning on buying the 5sfe for? Ive seen 3sgte and tranny sold for mayube 1500, used obviously at about 75k, everything included, as well as wiring harness, except the downpipe and exhaust to match. I cant remember what site i was talking to.
