I am considering on getting 17 inch rims. Unfortunately, that would make my car look completely stupid without a lowering. For about a 2 inch drop, what else would I need? I would look for rim costs under 1000 and tires under 500, how much would those other objects cost?

yeah i have some 17's and it seems pretty funny... so you need some shocks and some springs but 2" is too much dont you think... good luck though

1500 for wheels and tires? there's a lot of online places you could get 19"s for that. It's usually some generic type brand of wheel though, but I would think that those prices are really easy to attain.. www.wheelsnext.com [wheelsnext.com] comes with springs. and if you drop it more than 1" then your going to need new shocks(500 or so) and rear camber links(250). you could get 17's for under 1000 though and then spend the left over money on springs shocks and camber links.

You don't need shocks/camber links for <1.5" drop

shocks wouldn't hurt though

Any drop should be required to get adjustable rear camber links, its just safer that way and is the most accruate way to fullly adjust your camber to match the springs. So, new adjus camber links from hotchkis, id say go with springs from tein (1.4 all) or hotchkis (1 3.8f/1 7.8r), and kyb agx, but if you can get the custom konis to match the low drop with the hothchkis, do it. Make the end links from hypermotive i think it is, and way bars and strut bars. Just do a full suspension setup for the best ride. Also, pillow ball mounts for front struts. But overall, id say go with Hotchkis FULL Stage suspension. I beleive you can get coilvers, camber links, sway bars, strut bar and the forward coilvers you can get the adjustable camber to match. But its really all up to you, all we can do is help, point you the right way and give you many ideas!

i would just do springs/shocks. camber links are a plus, but aren't really needed.
