For those of you that have a air fuel ratio gauge, will this work with the OEM oxygen sensor or do you have to buy a sensor that autometer says you will need.

Autometer says: Works with most OEM and aftermarket oxygen sensors, if sensor is needed - see model ATM-2244

it works... its just not accurate... you need a wideband o2 sensor for any AF ratio gauge to work accurately...

you are better off getting a pyrometer because it'll be more accurate, unless you want the wideband... which is around 400 bucks.

I have that air/fuel gauge and i used the stock 02 sensor

Does it really matter though? Who actually uses their A/F ratio gauge?

The gauge won't be as accurate but if you are running REALLY lean or REALLY rich you can see it, it gives you the general idea what your engine is doing, I am very happy with my Autometer gauges

matters if you have F/I or any sort of ECU tuning...

if you get your car tuned at a shop I don't think it's much for anything but show. in forced induction better things to monitor are boost and egt. but if you get a good A/F ratio one of those G-tech dyno thingys a laptop and a power FC you could tune your car yourself. (I know lots of people don't think G-tech is that acurate but all your really looking for in a tune is an improvement or not and it's a bunch of trial and error.), but also having a wide band o2 sensor attached to your exhaust would also let a shop tune your car better.
