one of my bumper lights wires were scraping against my cold air intake splash guard and the both wires opened up and touched each other causing my fuse to pop

I was installing a pair of Hikari LEDs, which were very bright, but could not focus into solid beams. Damn. Had to return the $35 pair and went back to a pair of LED with H7 base just like Halogen bulbs. Work OK. But,

Then my tail light fuse keeps popping. I used red LEDs tail light which never gave me problems before. Every time I turn on the light the 10A fuse pop. I put in a 30A fuse to keep it working right now so I can check the wires a again. Looks like there is a short somewhere near the head lights.

H7 LED low beam head lights are difficult to install in the Celica since there is very little room. You also need to add an adapter to the LED's base so the clip soring can press it into the socket. Otherwise the clip spring wont lock and the buls will sit loosely. I did make a pair of cheap LEDs work in another Celica, very bright white lights. Damn PIA to deal with these little wires.

Brought the car to the shop that installed the security system and the DVR.

They spent 3 hours checking all wires and testing various electronic parts. Finally they found the tail light and rear defogger relays dead. These are the 2 relays on the right most position of the fuse box at the passengers' left knee. That was why the tail light fuse kept popping. Both use Denso ITEM : # DEN567-0004 4 -blade relay

I ordered 2 relays direct from Denso, $14.43 each, cheapest and 100% sure genuine parts as there are lots of counterfeits in the market.

The guys who installed security/video recorder were just not competent. The problem was not the relays. The tail light wire was pinched against the chassis behind the plastic panel on left passenger side.

A car chassi electrical guy had to remove all interior plastic panel to find the short and trace the wire from the trunk to the Body Control Module under the dash. It took him 4 hours to find and repair the short.
