subs-i'd get eclipse, they hit hard but it really depends on what you listen to,i listen to rap with a lot bass so subs that hit hard are good for me

amp-depends on your music but phoenix gold are supposedly the best ones

as far as cd head units go, this should have you covered..personally i like the pioneer deh p85000
http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-BBO...cc=01&avf=Y [crutchfield.com]

for subs i'd either use the audiobahn or alpine names or the mtx thunder 6000a (for cheaper subs, the sony xplods are decent)

and also with amps i personally like audiobahn, pioneer, and alpine systems.

what type of box you use depends on what type of music you listen to most. if your hearing loss comes mainly from rap or rock, then ported boxes are the way to go because they give you more of a throaty rumble that lasts. if techno, classical or country is your style then a closed box is for you because the beats are more precise and quick. thumbsup

ok, one more question, if i have indiglow gauges, neons, and a sound system, it wont be too much for my battery, will it? because i that the stock radio seems dimmer with my neons in now.

head unit - Alpine all the way.

subs - with your price range go with JL. Pickup a pair of 12W3's or maybe a W6 (don't get sony xplod pls...they are the rice of car audio...)

amp - you probably can't afford pheonix gold but JL, Alpine, Clarion are all decent.
