I finally got a digital camera (using Holiday Inn points from my dad's trips), so I finally can post pics of all the stuff I've done to my car since this summer!

First one's of my center console. It has been painted for a while, but I fixed the shift boot (sewed that slit at the top shut and took out the gap between the plastic and the boot). The Kenwood DVD player is new. There's the custom mounted remote level control for the MTX MXA4002 sub amp. Plus I have floor mats (b-day present from my mom), and you can barely see part of the Ichibahn strip series pedals.

New RJ Autoworks gauges were an early Christmas gift to myself. I had to do something different ... so red LCD and blue dials. I really want red needles, but that'll be a chore beyond all belief. I really like how these look with the cruise and lights on (being green indicators on blue dials). I've seen a couple heads turn at night when I'm cruising down the highway.

And I went with red-out tail lights instead of the $150+ after market lights that seem to be all the craze. The S2k antenna is visible too (I think the stock lightning rod looks stupid, so that was my first mod to my car). The Ichibahn valve stem caps were a cheap mod -- hey, they're red, it's a must.

Floor mats I think are right from Autozone. They were labeled as carbon fiber floor mats - they're rubber, but textured/pattered black/silver so head on they look silver, but from the side they look black. I guess the manufacturer decided they looked like carbon fiber? idunnoI was wearing a hole in the carpeting, so I wanted new mats. Frankly I wasn't too concerned what they should look like as long as they weren't retarded or rice.

awosme bro. great work. adivce for the needles i jsut did. I used the shapiu 1st and mine looked like yours. This weekend i redid it. Did 2 coats of sharpie to give some nice darker blue color. Then did one solid coat of sky blue model paint. Man they really glow awsome now. I highly suggest you do it. You wont be dissappointed. Also did rj lety you buy red lcd and blue needle kit. I wanted the other way around and he said he woudl onyl sell single color kits frown

Great job on the ride, keep up the good work.

I agree. It would flow much better. If you're good, you could paint that peice if you want.

I'm really good with spray paint, but spray paint is like a broadsword, not a scalpel.

Eventually I'll do it, but probably at the same time I get the nerve to spray my entire dash and door panels black (to have a red and black interior).

And yes, I checked with RJ when I sent in the order and that'll probably be the last two-color he'll do for a while. I had to have him overnight a strand of red LEDs and red bulb covers...it was a mess.

Oh, and since I accidentally got the blue bulb covers sent to me, I just used them on the gauge cluster to cover the high-beam indicator and turn signal bulbs...that made those come out really blue and nice!

Next mod's gonna be installing the tint I bought a while ago (it's been too cold to put the film on). After that will probably all be wedding money, and then lottery tickets to try and win $10k for a turbo and internals, veilside kit, rims/tires, and exhaust, because it pretty much all has to go one at once.

THANKS FOR THE FEED BACK SO FAR EVERYBODY!

you know..everybody says the stock antenna looks stupid and blah blah blah... rolleyes i hardly ever listen to my radio, so whats the point of buying a new antenna? plus since i got the motor antenna..its too much trouble to get the s2000 one...it doesnt look all that great IMO...but to people that start with the exterior first, i can see why it is..but car is hott...

well yea for us 03+ guys we have the spiffy motorized ones. I woudlnt change out mien either. But for those who are not as lucky wink they have a constant lightning rod. if i were them i would swap that for anyhting too. s2000 jsut seems to be simplest and decent looking solution. grin

on your rj gauges, does it seem like the light doesnt shine through as strong on some points... like on your tach nearing redline...

mine seems dim in a few spots... i dunno if he just didnt remove enough material there to let the light shine through or something...

Yes, but purple doesn't come through very well (red LED backlighting blue gauge face). You're only using 4 or 5 LEDs to backlight an entire gauge, so it is going to be a little inconsistent. That's the price for better color, but really it's too hard to tell.

Now I just really need to get creative and find a way to get red needles on those gauges. I guess it's going to have to be custom mounted red LEDs behind the needles. I don't wanna spend the $70 on that needle conversion someone posted months ago. ohboy

Believe me, red paint on the needles with the blue LEDs in the gauges makes for purple needles which are impossible to see. I did try that, and yes the next step is to custom make something that doesn't cost $60.

i used model kit paint, but that only works if the led is the same color. best combo i tried is a few coats of sharpie and a light color in model paint. i did sky blue. but you coudl do liek red sharpie and pink paint it woudl look great. well assuming you ge thte red leds in there
