depends on how much you're willing to pay for paint.

for example, if i were to get my kit painted the stock silver, i'd have them order the 1D0 paint from (i think) DuPont themselves. that is the factory paint used. but there are also instances where the paint matches are perfect/nearly perfect. thumbsup

if the kit is an authentic one with perfect fitment, you should install it yourself. that way there wouldnt be any need to do body work, unless the kit has bad fitment. thumbsup

Just shell out the extra money to get the whole car painted, only way you'll get a true paint match.

^^^ yep, it should be around 1500 to do an all over paint job on the outside or you could go with another 300-500 bucks and change the color. but it's worth having it all match. thumbsup

they just have to know how to blend it to the rest of the body..since the sun kinda changes the car color a lil bit in time..so it won't match anymore if you just plain use the stock color paint.

there is NO need to repaint your whole car when having a body kit installed.

pro's can match it pretty well, i've had two places do my kit and both had a dead on match with it.
even if your car paint is faded a bit, the body kit paint will eventually turn the same color.

and install the kit yourself, esp if it's authentic with predrilled holes and what not, saves a bunch of money and lets you take care of your car

look if you have a silver celica it's the best to see it on but look at your door handels and the door, or look at the bumper and the fender closely you will see a difference b/c all the parts were painted seperately you can't ever mix it exactly you have to re-spray the entire car to match perfectly smile

^ Thats only because the fenders are baked and the bumpers arent... Likewise with the door handles and the door baking changes the appearance...

I have a 2000 silver gts and i just got a kit painted early this past fall. I just took it to an average shop and they color matched it fine. I don't even think he added any tinting to account for fading. He just looked up the stock code on the door jam and sprayed away...

are you kidding me no offence but take a look at the picture again and see I could see the color difference right away in the picture.

1. it's a picture
2. you don't know anything
3. there are 239855 people who get the body kit painted and it matches the car's paint perfectly without painting the entire car

so yea, my car is 4 years old, i just got a authentic kaminari kit, and it looks like my paint might be faded a little. I have a super white celica, so im hoping the paint can be matched perfect. I know jack sh*t about taking bumpers on and off so should I do fitment myself?

Also, can I just drop my Kaminari kit and wing off at a shop for painting after fitment without them keeping my car? I need my car to get to work and school daily, so i cant afford for a shop to keep my car for more then 3 days. Should I stick with strictly custom body shops to paint it, or will any body repair shop do just just as well?
