All,

I was reading the TSB for lift bolts problem. In page 15, step 23, it reads as followed,

[Linked Image from trioplanet.com]

Why would the instruction ask to remove the old packing material (FIPG) and never mention about reapplying the new one? In step B, I am assuming the "seal packing" is different then FIPG, since it is listed as different part at the first page.

I know everyone say I should be able to pop the valve cover off and on with out worrying about this FIPG, etc... but I just want to make sure I am doing this correctly.

By the way, any one got a picture of FIPG, valve cover gasket and the bottom view of the valve cover?

Thanks

FIPG is in a tube like tooth paste. it's black ond gooey.

there's an indented ring around the bottom of the valve cover. the gasket slips into that groove. very simple process.
