If our cars were carbourated then it would be a possibility, but to my knowledge it's almost impossible for a fuel injected car to backfire(thru the Intake
). The only thing I can think of is pre-detonation within your manifold, and that's a REALLY bad thing. What I mean is a collection of fuel collectis within the manifold before it's injected into the cylinders...but that fuel is burning within the manifold, before it makes it into the injectors and cylinder. That can happen when running nitrous, or too low octane gas. Please someone correct me if any of this is wrong, don't want to lead anyone in the wrong direction.
