Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone has seen a set of black aluminum or carbon fiber louvers for our cars, like the old school 80's models used to sport. I want a set for my car to kinda blend the old with the new. Also my car is black and has kinda a stealth look to it, so it would flow. Anyone seen these? Or know if a set made for an 80's celica would fit the rear window on our cars?

i seen an abs plastic set for $80-i can pm you the site-just overlay it in carbon--and dont listen to the responses-i noticed they seem to negative 80% of the time-
you make ur car payment not them- so you do what you like to your car--but i dont like the louver idea either..if you have a carbon kit on it might look cool with the carbon louvers-- spineyes

You know, screw you fucking guys, you have no idea what it would look like. These have been used on Celica's in the past, and I want to see what they would look like on a 7th gen. What the fuck is wrong with that? angry

This board is sooooo fucking elitist, yet this is supposed to be a place we can talk about these mods, not judge each other.

It actually directs air down between the manifold heatshield and the firewall.

Do you mean those things like the camaros and firebirds used to have on them? I personally dont like the look of those even on the more boxy muscle cars...and i don't think they would look that good on a car as smooth as the celi. But then again just try it out if ur interested...

I think they would look sweet if you talking about the camaro ones, one the rear window not rear quater panel windows. Besides from looking cool they would be functional as a rear glare delfector and they reduce visibility very little. My 87' IROC has them and I loved them. IMO it would only look smooth on a black celi though. And don't worry about that other hater bullshit here...they're just jealous

Ok, these are the ones I was talking about before, I don't know if they are made for the 7th gen, but they would be sic in Carbon Fiber, or black on a black celica.

I am looking for a really clean GTS, too. Getting harder and harder to find. Mine is getting up there in miles, but still running strong at 1/4 million.

I'd just keep driving AND maintaining it until the wheels fall off LOL. If you take care of it, it'll take care of you, regardless of miles. I'm just over 200k and going strong.

This is the B is for Build instructional video, and I linked to another video of a guy doing the same method, but I think he explains a little better.

B is for Build: https://youtu.be/G-MyDOqK6cI

Seth Lee: https://youtu.be/8VXPpxl2KVg

You'll need: 4-1/2" wide 20 Gauge Steel strips (5 feet long?)
Rivet gun
Drill and bit
Rivets
Louver mounting kit (Example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07526XSZX/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_yqhiEbMTHKESY )
Something to cut the metal
90 Degree angle steel (similar to the metal bracket used for drywall corners)
Steel Bending Brake
Protractor (for angle consistency)
Painters tape
Marker

Maybe more supplies? Idk

I haven't done the mod yet, but it looks like it should cost at least $150 less than purchasing a premade one.
