I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem with their engine...

My engine has 49k miles on it and its an 01 GTS...

whenever I go 30mph or above and let the stick rest in neutral my rpm needle goes down smoothly but once it gets close to 1,000 it goes down to 800---700---600----then suddenly kicks back up to about 1,500 rpm...does anyone know what this problem might be...any suggestions?? I'm trying to figure out what it is and it's driving me crazy! any help?

DUDE i have that exact same problem man! It bugs the crap out of me...

does your car rev up a little bit everytime you shift? Like you're accelerating and then right when you push in the clutch (to go into the next gear).. RIGHT when you push in the clutch, the RPM jumps up about 500 RPM? The faster you push the clutch, the more it jumps. if i shift really really slow, slow enough to to revmatch, then it doesn't do it but yeah.. i dont know what the problem is.

MAF or IACV are the usual suspects.

maf is a square shaped sensor with two screws and should be slap in the middle of your intake ( pretty much) the iacv is on the underside of the throttle body, and to get it off, you have to take that tb off. Which is why my iacv is still dirty, cause im lazy.

sounds like you are pushing in the clutch with your foot still on the gas. Try taking your foot completely off the gas and then push in the clutch
