I know this sounds odd, but does anyone else feel guilty when they part with a car that's treated them well? I received an offer for the Celica and now I'm really feeling the bond of having owned the car for two years. I'm sure I'll get over it once I have my new car for a while, but has anyone else ever felt this way before?

yup. I had to sell my 01 jeep wrangler that i would wash like twice a week and keep it all tucked in. Man i loved that car. It was so much fun. But my parents didnt trust me driving 5 hours on highway with it up to shcool. Figured i would flip it going 90. I mean it is good iguess, it got like 13 mpg smile It was sad, but the dealership loved it becasue it was so clean when i traded it back. Its for the best, i love my celica now smile

Yeah, you end up having a bond with your car, and you're putting an end to it. But don't feel guilty about it. Just remember it for what it was, and enjoy the memories. cheers

dude, i know how you and everyone must feel. we all know that its inanimate, but we still give it a name. we talk to "her" as if she could talk back, we baby her, we have fun, she lets us fuck inside of her grin ah, its like moving out of a house that you've grown up in, for me its a very hard thing to do.

like losing a friend... cry

Yeah, i know exactly what ur talking bout, thats why im never gonna sell my celi, because its gonna last me a while, and when it does get old, ill still keep it, just get a differetn car, because i have had a lot of memories in that car, everything from stupid cops pulling me over, to racing and loosing, racing and winning, and having sex in it, because in small towns, its a chick magnet, and thats where i live. Its nice to have a car thats not as common as most, its just plain old reliable, good car. Its like my partner in crime, not that i do any crimes! cry cry cry cry cry

Doesnt sound at all odd to me.

That's why I have pics of my old RX-7 and Corolla GTS in my profile; they where both fun cars with lots of good memories and I still miss them.

I bought my 2000 GTS new and I will keep it forever.

I am lucky to have two vehicles (other one is a Nissan truck) so I only drive the Celica a couple of days a week for fun. It still seems like a new car and I never get tired of it.

OMG!!!! cry cry

My dad sold his 68 SS camero when he was like 20 becaue he could not afford it any more, and a week after he sold it the guy he sold it to hit a truck. completely gone. And this was complete race SS with blower and all. Needless to say he was crushed. Woudl like to find one later in life when i can afford it and rebuild it for him.

I was super happy when I sold my POS Focus ZX3 but when I had to give away the Celica GT, that was a different story.

I agree, when the car has treated you well, it is hard to just let it go like that. But man, when the car is a POS you will find ways to get rid of it with the quickness.

Selling my first car, a 95 corolla. I had a lot of fun with the car even though it only has 100hp. Im starting to feel bad as the date comes up but at the same time Im thinking "Gee I hope the guys buys my car" so its a mix bag of feelings. I think I had the car for about 3 years now and I put on about 50k on her, yet she still runs as strong as she did the first day I got her. Bye bye corolla coaster cry (I hope).

The only car I missed or felt bad selling and I still miss it was my 1971 Chevelle I did a front end swap on it I put a '70 front end on it cause I thought it looked better then stock '71 front it also had a 475hp small block that I hand built. It was a beast I miss that thing the more and more I think about it cry
