Hi everyone

A question, what the topic says, Will this cause a problem if I tap into behind the cig power like this? Is it safe? Please let me know, I'm really new at this.

Thanks ahead of time

probably not for what you are running. it seems like its a small appliance, like a cell phone charger or cd power or something of that sort, so not at all. you may want to get a more powerfull fuse for your cig lighter though. its in the fuse box. otherwise it might be too easy to blow the fuse.

What are you trying to run, when we were putting my friends tv in his car we hooked up the power to behind his cig adaptor and it works fine. If you have any problems if you have an aftermet reciever, mabye crip the power to the power on the back of that. I did that to run my under car lights and that works perfect.

I'm just adding another cig lighter power outlet for small stuff like cell phone or lights. I just don't want to blow a fuse or cause any fires confused

Thanks for the quick response smile

Thanks guys! I was really scare I may have done something bad. I will cover up the ground wire with eletric tape smile I don't understand the last question about no ground for the second adapter.

Basically what I did was I took a mono headphone jack (a female and male) and connect one end to a Cig power outlet and the other end tapped into what you see above. The reason why I did this instead of this doing just a wire is so I can disconnect the wire when I remove the center console cover. I hope that makes sense

I just wanted to add another cig power outlet without using one of those multi-cig power outlet boxes that plugs into the orignal cig outlet of the car. I'm not making sense anymore confused

err. I plan to use the extended (new one) cig power outlet for cell phone charger or a little neon light

I'd tap it to the fuse box, on the power door locks fuse (blue arrow) tapping on the cig. lighter only works on ACC
