Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior HELP...Tanabe Pro-SS coilovers w/ adjustable camber mounts

ok so there's this stupid law in hawaii where you have to get a recon for any modifications to ur car. recon is basically a state safety sticker saying that ur car is safe to drive.

so my problem is that i have Tanabe Pro-SS coilovers w/ adjustable camber mounts on my car ok? now the car has to be at a certain height and i've pushed the coilovers all the way up. i didnt notice it at the time, but what ended up happening is that the front became stiff as hell and doesnt bounce more than an inch.

now my question. is there a way to make the suspension bounce a bit more without cutting the springs or reverting back to stock? because stock is gonna cost me over $1500

On the top of the struts, there is a little circle with 1-4 printed on it. There's a little white dot in the middle.

Take a small screwdriver and push down on the center part and then turn it until the dot it next to the 1. That's the softest setting.

For the rear, you have to take all of the plastic out of the trunk and turn the small knobs that are on top of the rear struts. It's much more difficult. The stiffness number is printed on the knob for the rear rather than the top of the strut.

Make sure that your tires are inflated to the correct PSI, if they are overinflated it will cause the ride to be stiffer than it should be.

i just take a wrench and twist it right? after pressing down the ting with a screw driver?

Use a small flat head screw driver.

Push down and turn until it's on the setting you want. If it's done right the small dot will be at the same height as the numbers.

It will take you 2 seconds to adjust each side.
