I am assuming you mean coilovers. Just a heads up, coilovers give a harsher ride than springs/struts but will obviously perform better. TRD's I hear are good but I think they were discontinued but you might still be able to find the last few. I remember seeing them for cheap (as far as coilovers go).

I have the TRD coilovers, and the ride is really rough. There isn't any way to change the dampning force, so they stay stiff 24/7. If you're looking into coilovers, I'd reccomend the TEIN, or anything that is adjustable for comfort.

With non-adjustable coilovers the ride will be rougher than springs/struts. The simple reason being you compromise ride comfort for better performance with the non-adjustable coilovers. I dont have a good answer to if the adjustable coilovers will provide a smooth ride though, so someone else will have to speak up. Just beware, people buying coilovers are usually more into the performance over the ride comfort so something bumpy to us, might not be bumpy to them.

I thought when my Celica was new that it could be a tad or two stiffer. I knew the handling was good, but could be better and not sacrifice too much do to comfort.
After 15,000-20,000 miles the stock suspension was disappointing to say the least.
Coilovers won't be bumpy and will ride great. Springs on old stock struts will be bumpy. Too many people have great new aftermarket springs on old tired stock struts whether they are aware of it or not. The damping on coilovers (matched spring and strut/valving) is awesome. Much better than stock across the board. The only way to go in my opinion or a custom settup.

Those are not true coilovers and in my opinion worse than getting a good spring and strut combo.
Those adjustable sleeve overs are for the people that don't know what they are doing.
Once your ride height is good, get an alignment and forget it.
Or corner weight and balance, camber adjustments (some), spring tension, and sway bar preload set (for the true coilovers and adjustable end links that come with the kit).
You can't keep on adjusting the height without throwing off everything like your alignment etc...
Better off getting a spring that goes to your desired height and a strut that will compensate in that case.
