Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Going to have my lift bolts checked/changed...

What do tell them to check? I know they won't have a clue if I just say 'Lift Bolts'


ALSO, I've been hearing a strange, clunking type noise, usually around 2k RPM when I'm just sitting (like when it's at a cold idle).
It kind of sounds like rocks bouncing around a plastic enclosure (doubt that's really what it is, though), and I can only hear it from inside the car (coming from either the center of passenger side of the dash).
When I rev the engine a little bit, the clunking gets faster and/or goes away. I usually don't hear it at all when the car's warmed up (but the car isn't sitting still and at 2,000 RPM when it's warm, either, so...)
Any suggestions? Or should I take it to the dealer early, so I can let it cool down and have them listen?

have the dealer listen to that sound. As far as the lift bolts, they should know what that is, so tell them exactly that, or explain to them where it is.

I believe the technical term that Toyota will be familiar with is 'Flange Bolts'

like tgts said its call "flange bolts" if you say lift bolts they will be like WTF you talking about?????
