Almost everybody has a Celica story. The first one I remember sitting in was a new 1980 second-gen Celica (tan color that every second-gen Celica seems to have) at the ripe old age of seven. Thirty five years and seven generations after the Toyota Celica was first introduced in the U.S. in 1971, the longest-running import sport coupe is singing its swan song. With more than a three-decade old legacy, the two-door coupe (which featured a dragon logo often mistaken for a swan in early generations and a name derived from the Spanish term for heavenly, or celestial) has been in the garages of many, many enthusiasts. (Article from UrbanRacer.com) Heres the rest check it out, did you know that the mustang was almost discontinued because of the celica, aint that somthing. http://www.urbanracer.com/articles/anmviewer.asp?a=1244&z=3

All the car's I've owned so far have been celicas... had a yellow 94 GT (6th gen) as a first car then sold it for my 00 GTS. I guess the family tree will end here! cry cry cry

Yeah, I don't understand what Toyota's doing either. Big mistake, IMO. Why they couldn't go forward with an "8th gen" is beyond me.
