You're wrong.

They won't affect the handling. They just make the wheels sit flush with the fenders and keep them away from the suspension.

yeah it depends on how thick they are. if they are pretty small then it should be fine. i have a 5mm spacer on the rear and there are no adverse effects. but if they are really wide then it can put a lot of stress on the studs, which can be bad.

I have 8mm on the front and i have no problems... Like kim said they can put stress on the studs though... so if they are really thick you may consider buying longer wheel studs or a conversion kit.

I have some that I'm trying to sell. 1/4" $20 shipped. I've had them sitting in my garage for a year just collecting dust. I can't put them on because it'll void my "free" wheel balance and rotation at discount tire

^^ yes, but don't put more than 1" ones...1/2" or better is best. the wider the spacer, the more prone it is to wobbling at high speeds and cracking (not good).

You can put huge spacers in as long as you get appropriately sized studs to go with them.

i'll stick with my original statement.

the wider a spacer is, the more prone it is to wobbling (yes, this can be fixed as you pointed out).

the wideer a spacer is, the more prone it is to cracking. this is not so easy to fix. the celica is a light car so you can put wider spacers than most other vehicles such as SUVs..but i still would not go wider than 1". too risky.

You can find wheel adapters that are 1-4 inches thick on ebay.

They don't? Then what's this:

1025541 toyota CELICA T23 wheel number of holes 5, except version with self levelling DRS-System ***10 mm*** 100/5, 54, 1 mm, offset: +9

Looks like 10mm to me.
