i want to build a custom sub box for my system in my car and i wanted to know what kind of material i would need to build it. mostly what kind of wood to use, i know you cant use regular wood cause it vibrates and doesnt give good airflow. and what kind of carpet to cover it. i just called it carpet because i dont know what it is called. newb

Fiberglass is the way to go if you can afford it or have the ability to do it yourself. If you're going to just build a regular box use baltic birchwood. Its lighter and stronger than mdf but costs 3x as much. Use adaquate bracing and your box will slam.

Fiberglass enclosures cost upwards of $1,500 to $2,000 for a basic one. You can build your own enclosure out of MDF for about $50.
