Has this happened to any of you?
You are sitting there stopped, you rev up to about 3500 to 4000 rpm and let the clutch out almost instantly. Your front wheels grab the road but your Whole front-end SHUDDERS until you let off the throttle and wait a moment for the rubber to grab.
Why does this happen with the celica. I have not had this happen before on a front-wheel drive vehicle before. If you have your engine running under the 3000 rpm everything is fine, or if you have the rpm at around 4500 or up the tires just spin out like they are supposed to. I also nitice that it does it more when the tires are newer. I just put a new set of 50 series on and it occasionally does it again.
Please enlighten?????

Okay, what causes wheel hop and how do you make it go away forever.?? is it something in the car to change or is it the tires?

you would need solid motor mounts to get rid of wheel hop

Maybe you are releasing the clutch too fast.

I thought stiffer motor mounts will make the car vibrate more?
