a) to paint or not to paint? they are a pretty nice, shiny black but don't match 100% perfect. i'm broke so i'd like to avoid having to paint them if possible. based on the pics, what do you think?

b) i can't get one little part to go all the way down and secure itself, it keeps popping loose. i'm scared to death that these are gonna fly off at high speed or somethin... i know they probably won't but i'm just a paranoid person. do you think i'm safe in that regard?

thanks for all your help guys? you all know your stuff and are always there w/ help and good answers.

save up and just get em done a later time if you want them to be perfect...there is no rush
and can't you put some more double sided tape there to keep it down?

Judging from the pics, they look awsome! thumbsup I wouldn't worry about painting them if you don't have the money! Which part is poping up?.. Is it towards the bottom or the top?

just curious how much would it cost to get these painted?
i've heard that the double sided tape secures them pretty good.

it's the driver's side one, starting along the bottom and curving up and out towards the fender. i don't know if you can really tell in that pic. i push it down but it's got pressure on it like it wants to bend out, and it pops up a little bit.

i got them from se168us, and they had the red strips that you peeled off to reveal the double sided tape. it pretty much covers all of the areas where you apply it so it's pretty good.

i was wondering the same thing about the cost to paint? although i've got a guy that will do it for free if i wait til next time i'm in his area (he lives 2 hours away). or is this something i could do myself w/ a can of spraypaint and clear?

i got the same ones from se168us. i also have a black car. they didnt match so i got them painted.

paint = 50 bucks

the double sided tape it came with wasnt good enough so i went out bought better double sided tape and re did it. they stick great now. dont try to paint them yourself. its worth the 50 bucks to get it done. thumbsup

i'm just gonna invest in some more double sided tape to secure that one part down. i checked and i don't think it's gonna go anywhere. it's really secure everywhere except that one spot but i better do that just to make sure. and as far as the painting goes, i'll leave them as they are for now. i think they look ok, at least temporarily. thanks for the input everyone.

i was wondering 'bout the secure fit also. i got a set from simon also and the double sided tape seems pretty thin considering the ridges. i've been keeping an eye out for thicker double sided tape but all i find is wider tapes.

epoxy is what, like super glue or something? i'm picturing something like what silicon tubes are packaged in. is that correct? so, you can find epoxy in the hardware aisle of walmart or something?
