Celica Forums General Discussion General damage to transmission...?

well... i was in a rush to bring my camry into the garage... so i dropped it into D and guned it during the time it takes to engage... (its an 88 so it takes a couple seconds to engage) but yeah nice loud tire screech/chrip... and my dad screamed at me i know the tranny probably already has some problems... but could my little stunt do any big damage?

probably not, my mom does that to her caddy STS all the time and i've seen nothing wrong. But that is an older car so im not sure.
