bigger rims = thinner tires which will make the ride quality a little bumpier. Also if you have a lot of pot holes, you may dent a rim. On the other hand, 18's look good!

18's with Tanabe GF210 or Tanabe NF210 springs. Or you could get an Eibach Pro-kit. All of them lower it 1 1/4-1 1/2. And wrapped in some low-profiles. grin

personally I dont think pics do rim size justice...I suggest you go to your local toyota dealer and ask them if they have one of the new trd celicas on 18's (I believe 18 wheels are an option now atleast). Then you can see for yourself if 18's are for you or not. But either way 17's or 18's still look a lot better than my stock gt rims thumbsdown

I've cracked more than 12 wheels in jersey...I've had all 18's, at one point 18 front/19 rear, then all 18 again diffrent wheels.

stock GTS wheels now cause I'm tired of wasting fucking money on rims and tires.

suspension at all times I had wheels was stock struts and eibach prokit springs

now I'm running on...FUCK I can't remember the name of the struts and springs...it's the blue struts and they make springs which are the same spec as the trd/prokit.

you can fit 17" and 18" wheels comfortably on a celica with low profile tires. for 19" you need super low profiles tires (something to think about next time you want to fork up some $$ to buy new tires). 17" or 18" should be good to go though.

cool18's are just fine for turns, I do them with speed & quickness, it's true that the ride is a little bumpier-but damn they look good! Watch those f@*k*n' potholes though!

you must be slow...

pot whole with little tire = RIM hitting the potholes not the tires.

the less tire you hav ethe more damage to your wheel.

i guess you've never seen a BENT LIP from hitting the curb or something on the road or from a pot hole. When you get low profile tires like 35 series or 40 series or lower, you have a higher risk of bending the lip because the rubber is sooooo thin when you hit something like a pothole going 30 MPH that 35 series tire isnt gonna protect your rim too much... next thing you hear is a THUD... then you go FU@K bent another rim!!!!

Personally i would get 215/45/R17 this is the equivalent of the stock 195/60/R15... same or almost same tire diameter. If you go 18s your spedometer will be slower so when your spedometer reads 60 your actually going 64 or something... if you get 205/40/r17 your actually going slower... when your spedometer reads 60 your actually going 57 mph... just something to keep in mind.

go to google then type in TIRE CALCULATOR and click on the first or second link i think... it helps you figure out the difference in diameter from your old stock rim to one you were considering on getting.

I looooooooooove my 18s... thumbsup i have 215/40/18 i'm thinking of going a bit wider on the tire though.. but my 18s are perfect... just gotta be careful when in the city or in unfamilliar area...due to the growing pot hole problem in NY... i guess it depends on ur pref. ur area. and ur kit.
