do it yourself only take 5 min. there two layer (tint and a white layer thats between the tint and window) make sure you take them out at the same time.. or you will have to spent the whole day cleaning out the white layer. use a blade to cut the edage first(alittle at the conner so you can peal off the tint).. when you cut make sure that the white layer and the tint stick together so it will be a lot easy for you to take it off.

well i got a fix it ticket for no license plate on the front, and i have tint. from wut i heard, when they inspect for license plate, they are also looking for window tint. if you have ur windows rolled down, they roll it up and give you a ticket. so im pretty sure i have to take it off sooner or later. fuckin stupid law man, they really wanna disturb some ppls peace for just a tint which isnt that dark. some ppl were bitching about it and tellin me why i have it when i know its illegal, simple:
1. looks great
2. feels great and give ur eyes a break on sunny days

and i really dont give a shit about the tinting law, cz im not hiding anything bad in my car, im not doing any shit in my car, and the only reasons i have my tints is for the reasons listed above. so as long as i know im not doing anything bad and that thing is not there for a bad reason i dont give a shit about them.

theres one way to get away with tints in any %, but i wouldnt prefer saying it here cz lots of ppl will read it and dunno if admins will like it.

Quick question, here in the Bay, what percent tint will be okay? I was thinking of doing 5% all around.

So no tint at all on the drivers and passenger side windows?? That sucks. Is 5% noticeable?

5% is so f-ing dark. do 70% or above so they won't notice as much.. by the way the percent is for how much light is passing thru

Haha, all along I thought that the lower the percentage the lighter it is, haha.

Ahrite, so 70% all around should look okay then?

Legal in CA is 70% front-sides, anything you want behind that. Windshield is illegal at any level.

To be realistic, you can go 35% all the way around and be fine with cops.

^^ CA law is no tints in the front sides (i've checked with chp, law, and online)... i think that was the old law deal

No person shall drive any motor vehicle with any object or
material placed, displayed, installed, affixed, or applied in or
upon the vehicle which obstructs or reduces the driver's clear view through the windshield or side windows

no, I read a chart put out by whatever authority or org. that says it's ok in Cali to have 70% in the front sides and anything else behind. it was recent too.

I just checked...
hmmm they must have changed the law, perhaps recently...

http://www.chp.ca.gov//html/streetlegal.html

didn't know if this was the case before, but apparently clear corner lenses in the front are also illegal according to the site. it says they have to be yellow in the front, if there are any lenses present.
