You need to have the dealer explain the work they did, and why. Normally when a car is in a shop, they first investigate what needs to be done, then call you to let you know what they think needs to be repaired, and get your permission to go ahead with the work. At that point they usually can tell you how much it will cost. If they didn't call you, they should probably reduce the amount they charged some. Did you make sure they had a phone number to call you at when you dropped the car off?

well i already knew what was wrong with the car so all they had to do was fix it. they did call me to tell me how much is was gunna cost but at that point i think they had already done the work so i had to pay neway. they said they had to remove this bolt that was like a foot long and to do that, they needed to drop the whole engine which i think is total bullshit so thats what is weird.

You acknowledged what they are going to charge you and you agreed to pay for that? It doesn't look good then.

You have to find out exactly what "bolt" is that.
They cannot lie to you, but you need to know exactly what has been done
to the car. The more you know the less BS. you will hear from them.

Also there is a T.S.B. out there for the 01 celicas, maybe all gen 7s, for the tensionor pulley assembly rattling. From this it can also make you belt sqeal because the belt isnt alighned properly. But that is under warranty. Whatever the case may be. Everyone is right. Have them fully explain what was wrong and then check it with your warranty company as well.
