Ice on inside winshield...

Well when i when to start the celica this morning there was ice on the inside of the windsheild? Is that normal? What would make this happen. It was extremely cold last night and my battery died too. What a yucky day. So any ideas on what might have caused the ice on the inside of the windshield? I kept using all my defrost fluid and then realized the ice was on the other side rofl

Shouldn't be any big deal; just like when you get window fogging on the inside, except its cold enough to freeze it. Just make sure then engine is warmed up and the windows clear before you drive!

So does it have to do with some kind of air leak or anything liek that that caused cold air to come in and freeze? Also i am gonna jump start the celica soon and see if the battery is dead or what. If i need to get a new battery what should i get? Do they make ones that are stronger in colder weather or what? let me know. Thanks

My car has done that as well. I wake up, go outside and the ice is on the inside. Its not that big of a deal, just get it off and go.

some times i get condensation on the inside of my windshield after using the window defroster on hot and leaving the vent open and air control on defrost. make sure that before you leave the car to close the vent and to put the air control from defrost to feet only

I'd go with an Optima battery. They're expensive, but worth it.

Also check to make sure that your sun roof drains aren't clogged. You'd be amazed at how many problems that creates.

Where are the sun roof drains? Is that the tube inside the trunk on the drivers side? Behind the plastic

um, it happens becuase its freakin cold outside..lol. Just turn on defrost and wait 15min. Just warm up the car. lol. Its not going to just vanish, you gotta warm up the car. its better for the engine if you do that also.

That happened to me one freezing day in December. I go to get in my car in the parking lot, sit down, and can't see anything out of the windshield. Okay... I go outside to scrape it off, and realize there's nothing on my windshield outside! Go back in, and to my amazement, I find that my windshield is covered in ice on the inside. I had to use my fingernails to scrape a large enough hole for me to see safely enough to drive... Winter totally blows, I can't wait to be able to wash my beautiful car again and take pride in its holy majesty.

basically any condensation on the inside become cold enough to freeze. But I might check out the rubber seals on the windshield just to make sure there isn't an air leak.

Wis. Native, Moist warm air in car + cold weather = Ice. Best to leave slight
crack in window lets out moist air and cooler dryer air replaces with less ice.

i dunno i think its just because heat rises obviously and the hot air still leaks out after use b4 it cools down all the way and if its really cold outside then the hot air leaking out causes the condensation on the cold windshield for physics reasons which i dont want to explain right now. if you put it to something other than defrost before you leave then the hot air that leaks out will be cut off from the front defrost vent so it wont cause the condensation thumbsup
