Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Hotchkis endlink set

Did anybody get instructions with their Hotchkis endlink set? I didn't get any and I couldn't find any on their website. I assumed how to put them on based upon the stock ones. Did anybody else have as much trouble adjusting them? I made them the same length as stock, which was like 26 turns for the front and 1 for the back but locking them in place with those nuts was a real pain. Does anybody know a good technique or guideline to use when I lower the car and have to readjust them?

I'm assuming you have the front endlinks from Hotchkis. Anyways, it will take a bit of trial an error to get them close to right. Be prepared, if they didn't come to your suspension specs and I know they didn't. I tried going from everywhere between an inch on my endlinks. My came preset at 9 3/4". I went from 9 to a full 10 and everywhere in between before I settled upon 9 1/2" around.

Everyone suspension mounting points are different. I would like to say this guys KYB's are the same as stock or this guys Teins are the same makes it impossible to say.
The back endlinks are easier, if that's what you are asking.

I live by a shop (40 mins.) that can preload the sways, corner weight and balance the dampers, etc... If I was you, I would look into the same sort of place if you are not sure. It won't cost that much. I was quoted at $200 to do everything for 3-4 hours of work.

I was told that you are supposed to adjust them so that the swaybars have no tension on them from the endlinks when the car is just sitting on the ground.

That's harder than you can realize. I thought also that the sway bar ends should be parallel to the road/ground. That's hard to do in increments also. It's easy to get things that way, but not perfect at all. That's like doing an alignment with a tape measure. Maybe not so severe, but you should get my point.
