bad shift

my freind was raceign his wrx and when he power shifter into second there was a crack and now he can only drive in 1st gear and the car makes a cracking noise what is uit

does the shifter move from like 1st to 2nd but the tranny doesn't engage?

If so, you snapped your shift linkage.

Take it to the dealer, and don't power shift a GTS, tranny sucks like a $2 whore.
