turbo illegal
i went to c2gas website and under the description it says for off road use only and some of you talk about smog levels which i understand...i know cars come with turbos on them already...so i guess im asking is it illegal to install aftermarket turbos?

That depends 100% on where you live.

Check your local laws.

like silver said but you will pass emissions as long as you have a catalytic converter. You can also drive around for a half our before emissions test and you can get most out that way too thumbsup But looking at the engine, that is only based on your state..i live in MA and don't think we have that but if we do, i don't think it is forced because the custom place i asked didn't say anything about that while telling me whats legal and what not...good luck thumbsup

most emmisions test are 2 parts, testing and visual inspection. If you squeak through a test with no exhaust, and they look under and see you have straight pipes, then you'll fail. If they see you have a big ass turbo and such, they can fail you.

thats bs for it to be illegal just to have a turbo on the car when cars come from the factory with turbos, as long as i am not putting out more emmissions above the legal level then it should matter how my motor is setup

respect the gt-s

bottom line is there are laws, but laws are also broken. if you want it in life you can have it, so weigh the risk or cost, and then do it if it suits you.

I get my kicks on EC.

You answered your own question. Cars come FACTORY with turbos, your did not. Its the same as an engine swap. Putting a new engine in isn't illegal, putting a different engine is. Plus..its da law
