To GTS owners, what gear is our best? The one that usually will walk over other cars? If you ever raced someone, which gear usually destroyed them the best? Every car has a certain "strong" gear, was wondering what you thought is our best one is.

GT owners, what's yours?

For GTS, I'd say for me 3rd gear for the gearing ratio compared to 5 speeds and the fact that's the gear to drop into when you want to GO on the freeway cruising at 65 mph.

2nd thru 4th are the true gears for power. Second to get you more off the line and 4th to hold the powerband.

Reverse gear. That way it's RWD.

Actually, yes, I read someones post about hitting lift in reverse, and finding out the rev limiter doesn't work in reverse, exceeding redline, and blowing the engine.

I have to agree 2-4 are where the best gain is to be made.

Isnt there a limiter to limit your reverse speed to only like 12 mph? wtf

Yeah, it kinda blew me away when I read it. Its on another forum, Toyotacelicas; I posted a little on that one, then decided ecelica had a lot more activity and fun people!

Anyway, here's the link; the posts kinda seem to be a little out of order; you have to scroll down a little and find the member named "aurovon". Hope it works. This guy obviously didn't think before he "floored it."

Heck, maybe reverse is the srongest gear, who knows! rofl

I don't think so, my cousin has hit almost 20 in reverse, and he didn't have it down all the way.

In this case I am not sure then. But in most other cars, I believe they have R gear speed limiters. This is to prevent people from accidently or intentionally push the throttle too much.
