cost of your car + $5000 = used s2000 (that's got a honda engine right?)

you want a honda plus you want speed, should have made that decision earlier before you plunked the dough on the celica...

happywink

it was just an idea guys, take it easy geez.

personally i think it would be kinda interesting. Since the celica's chasis is pretty stiff and nice, and it's light, with a great suspension and brakes. think about it, the celica and ITR are pretty close rivals but if they work together and use their strengths together you might have a monster hybrid. the JDM ITR motor has nearly 220 hp(k20), and has a tuning potential. toda cams, hondata ECU, etc. combined with the hotchkis celica could make a beast.

You do know that your car would never be street legal anywhere with that swap, right?
I'd just invest the $5K on a turbo kit, but that swap does sound interesting. The cost is probably going to be a lot more then $5k and it's probably going to cause a lot of head aches with custom mounts and for both a honda motor, tranny and axles, and who knows what else you'll need from the Integra or custom parts.

If you really want it then go for it since the Type R motor does have a lot more manufacture backing it is a more capable motor, and if you decide to do it then you can finally put a VTEC and TYPE R decal on your car and it won't be false.

I think Honda makes a great performance motor and I like Honda, but I just want to know something, "WHY". It's just like me taking a Type-R and wanting to put a VVTL-i motor in it. Perfect word for this is "Pointless". I love my GTS motor and it performs very well, if you know how to drive it right. LOL...By putting a Honda motor in a Toyota is like saying, "the VVTL-i Toyota motor sucks and Honda is better". I give you credit for having a decent imagination, but why in the world would you think of this, out of all things to think of...LOL Perfect solution for ya, sell your GTS, buy a honda and fix it up to look like a Celica... thumbsup

Actually, an engine swap IS legal if you take all the emissions equipment with it from the car you're gutting. (at least in Texas) thumbsup

I say if you've got the money to spend, and you don't want to wait for more performance parts for the celi to come out, do it!
