Which would give the better improvement in handling for the best price, bigger swaybars or strut tower bars? Do the strut tower bars even do anything?

sway bars are hell to install especially the front. but not so bad when you disconnect the steering fluid line.

david draper had a deal for trd sway bars for 150 for both front and rear thumbsup

sway bars are the most noticiable but hard to install, the tower bar looks nice and helps a little and is easy to self install

Ok, thats what I thought to, that swaybars would make the most difference. Only reason I thought anything about the strut bar was because I talked to a couple of autocross mustang people the other day and they have one, but for the mustangs it mounts at 4 points instead of two, like the celica. But they said theirs made a huge difference.

For the sway bars install you should only pay around 150 for both front and rear. Check around for pricing but make sure they know how much of a bitch the front is to install so they dont try and pull anything.

for sway bars itll take a while but not hard. just very time consuming.
the rear will install quickley its the front that takes most of the time. When reading the directions it sounds hard but its not. itll take a nice part of the day if you have a friend that is helping you.

yep mine sure has thumbsup I've had APR, RMM and now Carbing happywink

APR would be the best value of the 3 .. and does it's job quite nice as there are no welds that would cause possible flex as you want the stiffest bar.

There's more stability with the strut tower bar on as compared to nothing being there when you do hard cornering is when you feel the celica holding down better..
If you do a lot of fast turns that's when it's felt thumbsup

Though i've read with sway bars you feel the most difference and i'll have to get some of those in the future..

The TRD swaybars are very mild compared to the other options (Hotchkis, ST, C-ONE).

Actually, it will still be hard. The lift makes it possible to do the front bar since you can't do it without one.

You don't need a lift for the front sway bar. If you jack the front up normally, you can get under the car and support the tranny. Then once you lower the crossmember you can easily swap the sway bars.

Strut bars, stableizer bars, tie bars, whatever you want to call them...will stiffen your chasis, therefore creating better steering response. It might help handling a bit..but not a much as sways will. The thicker sway bars are the best way to go if you want to improve handling. Even if it might cost a little more..you wont regret the buy. Ive driven a stock celica with the front and rear sways..and a stock celica with upgraded shocks and springs..the celica with the sways (i believe) handled much better. The car actually feels as if its glued to the ground. If you learn about how the sways work youll know what im talking about,,but perhapes you already know. If you wanna save money just get the rear sway bar only and install it yourself..its not to hard..like eveyone else says..the front is a bitch. Only having the rear would be alright too. thumbsup
