chirping - the act of screeching the tires while shifting gears.

maybe ur not reving high enough or shifting hard enough... umm, never really had a problem with "chirping"

and why would he need to learn how to shift????

DONOT attempt to "chirp" your tires.

this simply makes you look like a noob AND it slows you down. IF you think by doing this your car is super fast then you really need to learn a few things about racing before you do ANYTHING else.

my celica is faster then your average celica and I NEVER chirp the tires or skreetch comin off the line unless I made a mistake.

you want your car to HAVE traction, not lose it. thumbsup

but hey what would I know.

yea, chirpin the tires loses traction, but i see what you mean, you want to know your car has enough balls to break the tires loose, first of all do you have an auto or stick? and second of all, attempting to chirp the tires as you know probably isn't really good for your car.

yea chirping your tires do make you lose traction too, but you also have to think about the rims you got on??? if you have stock, then you should be able to do that aftermarkets: they have to be really light to do that if not then dont even try to do it. thumbsup

the fact that "chirping" your tires isn't real easy, might be that the celica is lacking what we call torque. Although you should be able to still do it with out a problem. Everyone is right when they say minimal wheel spin is best for racing.

wtf is wrong with people and thinking that chirping your tires makes it look like you have power???

I can chirp the tires in a geo metro if I wanted too.
it's called poor timing and coordination. I've seen cars run a 10 second 1/4 mile and never one make a sound. does that mean they dont have torque? NO.

anyways thats all I gotta say.

Yup, you can get just about any car to "chirp." Its no big deal, and not worth worrying about.

its because of all those ricers out there and the fast and the furious...but i agree with you tho...i try not to chirp but it still happens from time to time
