Is there a disc brake conversion kit for the 2000+ gt? and how much would it cost to change that?

Sad to say no there is none except for some custom break system done on some shops... You need disc whole assembly as well as emergency break system which means you need whole GTS assembly.

someone did it, but its not worth the money. He has a conversion kit with performance brake parts...for about $2000. I dont think its worth the time, effort, and cost just to upgrade our stupid and ugly drum brakes.

does the gt look "gay" with nice rims and then drum brakes in the back? or is it tolerable

It looks fine! Of course having a disc brake instead of a drum brake would look better but just deal with it. It is tolerable.
