i am currently in the process of saving up for this to hopefully have by summer. i live in pa and i wanted to check with a few people about passing inspection and emmissions with this setup. does anyone know if having this kit will make me fail these inspections? also for the people who have ordered this i would appreciate if you could tell me how much shipping came to, roughly since someone else in pa probably doesnt have this kit to know exactly what it will cost to ship. thnaks in advance for the help.

as long as you don't take off the catalytic converter, you will be fine with emmissions. Passing insperciation shouldn't be a problem i dont think because there are cars with turbos on them and they pass so why not? I don't have one but i have been looking into the C2Power Turbo for a while now. good luck!

No, but if you take it off you will gain more power.

yeah...and then you fail emissions smile oh well, no win win situation...unless it was a real old car when they didn't have emission tests rofl

www.c2power.com [c2power.com] and use search button. They don't require you to take it off and i have no idea why they put that on their website (for off road use only)..maybe a foreign thing?? i don't know

Do you fail inspection because of the turbo?

I was looking at getting this kit too, but i had a reservation in that, in my opinion, when applying a turbo to any car and not building up the internals - conrods/pistons etc, you are either going to blow the engine or halve the life of it due to the excess stress. Me thinks you would be better off to build internals first, then go to an engine shop and get your turbo work done.

"for offroad use only" indemnifies the company that if the turbo blows on the highway and you kill 4 or 5 people because of it that its not their problem because its "for offroad use only"

"Offroad use only" we have to highlight cos it is an aftermarket product and it is your personal responsibility to use it with your own State or Country rules. We can only refer to our local rules and here in the EU we have to highlight that thing.
As CT said it seems to be similar there.
With the gredyy E-manage you can set back your ecu to work on nice emmission numbers at the smog test, also on visual test it is not really visible. But if you have clever mechanics at the test you will off course fail as usually a heavy mod like this, is not aloud. We have passed the tests here even with my st3. Our rules are strick also here, but Cali may leads all.

hey Gas, i sent you a pm and you never responded angry get back to me!! rofl

Thats cool...so what do I ask the mechanic to make sure he tunes it perfectly and correctly so i will get the best performance w/o killing the engine (and sucking up gas) and still pass emissions and inspection? Thanks!

I just ordered the kit from the group buy, i should have the funds to have it here by march. Shipping was $280 bucks but i am not sure if that is there flat rate or a discounted price for the group buy or not

It will fail the visual inspection as your car did not come with a turbo, but i have yet to see to many places crack down on this whole new visual inspections yet and since i live in Armstrong county i don't have to worry about emissions so my cat will be gone grin

so, you are saying that they can now fail you for just having the turbo installed? thats crazy, because other cars come with turbo and they dont fail due to it i hate my state...

^^^ PA now has a visual inspection that basically states that your car has to be the way it came from factory with everything on it from factory. Can't remove stuff, leave all emissions shit alone, etc.etc.etc.

Like my Jeep would fail because it has a chevy engine in it instead of the AMC V6 258 that came from factory as well as a couple of things with my jeep. grin

But like i said there are very few places that i know of that are even enforcing the rule. Technically as my car is right now it would fail becasue of the CAI but i have never had a problem with getting mine done.

I live in MA and I don't think we have that since i asked a professional place how much they would install that and i asked if it would be illegal and all he said was if i took of the cat it would be but nothing other than that. Damn, i think they are getting a little too strict...as long as it doesn't hurt the air or us then it should be fine...and MA has fucking idiotic rules angry

^^^ Just call a place that does inspection and tell them that you plan on having an aftermarket Turbo Kit installed on your car.. Then ask them if it will pass the visual inspection... Tell them that it passes the emissions but with this new Visual inspection you want to know if it will before buying it
