Aight, about 5 months ago, i had my car in toyota for a rutine tune up. Car wasn't running right afterwords, so back it went, and more money for a fuel injection tune up. It still gave me some issues, but nothing major. Durring the last week, it started acting up again, but instead of going to toyota, i looked at it myself. Turns out that the idiot who did the tune up put regular, resistor type spark plugs, when the engine needs platinum. I called toyota, and they said to bring it in and they would "look at it". If they fix it (at no charge) They'll put in NGK platinum spark plugs. I've read good reviews about Bosch platinum +4 spark plugs, but the factory dosen't recomend them. What should I do??? Anyone that has an opinion, please respond, i'd like to have this done today, and toyota closes at 9.

Bosch platinum +4 or NGK platinum?

NGK has a better reputation than Bosch, IMO.

i'd go with NGK, they'll put it in for free, right?

you should be using iridium plugs not platinum. also you don't need the 4 points only a single.

Yeah only use Iridium, it says so with a little sticker on the engine head.

His engine doesn't say to only use iridium spark plugs because when the 86 celica was made iridium wasn't popularly used. The 86 recommends platnium but iridum would be better.

that would be the best for a celica, if it were the 7th gens, right? his is the 4th gen (i think) so wouldnt the Iridiums be too strong? does that even matter?

That's what I'm trying to say lol. In an 86 the platnium will work fine. Iridium wouldn't be Bad but it's not necessary like in the 7th gens.
