i'm debating on cancelling my aem pulley from suprastore.com since it's not even in stock yet. also, after researching the gains of unorthodox i'm leaning towards their pulley set.
i do plan on installing a simple system down the road. i already have all the cables and accessories (1 farad capacitor, etc..), of course, and i have 6 1/2" mb quarts for the interior, an 10" alpine sub-enclosure, alpine deck (updating eventually) and a rockford 4 channel and a monoblock amp.
would the optima battery help with a basic system? I have also read about "harmonics" regarding pulleys. what is that?

From... https://celicahobby.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Number=136971... AEM Tru- Power- pulleys increase power by reducing the parasitic drag caused by factory accessory pulleys. Our lightweight pulleys reduce rotating weight and are slightly oversized to maximize efficiency, which nets more horsepower at the wheels. We guarantee our pulleys' belt tooth profiles to match O.E. specifications, eliminating any chance of premature belt wear. Comprehensive installation instructions, replacement belts and AEM decals are included in every kit. ... AEM manufactures two pulley systems whenever possible. Typically, these are the power steering and alternator pulleys. In some cases, AEM manufactures an alternator and water pump pulley. When the water pump and power steering pulleys are pressed onto the shaft of the accessory, AEM manufactures a single pulley system for the alternator. Every AEM Tru-Power pulley system includes properly sized replacement belts and comprehensive installation instructions. The belt tooth profile on AEM Tru-Power pulley systems are guaranteeed to match the OE belt tooth profile to prevent premature belt wear and eliminate any chance of belt slippage. *IMPORTANT: Vehicle manufacturers have thoroughly investigated the use of torsional vibration dampeners and conclude that their use significantly reduces NVH (noise, vibration and harshness). Furthermore, manufacturer and independent research shows that torsional vibration dampeners are critical to engine life where long-term use is intended. Removing the torsional vibration dampener from an engine can be highly detrimental to its long-term operation! http://www.aempower.com/product_pulley.aspKey Features: **CNC-machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum **Properly sized replacement belts included in every kit **Removal of the torsional vibration damper NOT necessary***Manufactured and assembled in the USA

yeah, i've read through all these post/threads in the past few days. i even read about experiences of people from other sites (even clubrsx) which gives me a slight complex about even messing with the pulleys. maybe i'll just hold onto the one (like so many others, it seems) that's coming since it's silver/clear (the engine theme of my car) thanks for the info isaac. btw, any idea when that replacement bulb will arrive? i won't install the rest until i get the replacement (AND my intake i have on the way from somewhere else).
