i had one, they seemed pretty accurate to me, pulled a 6.58 0-60 and a 14.9 quarter, and in my cavalier i did 8.95 0-60 and 17.1 quarter mile. Seems logical to me

I tried it on like 3-4 different cars (me & friends) and we ran with it at the 1/4 mile track. The GTECH 0-60mph & 1/4 mile compared to the official timeslips were almost dead on. So its highly accurate for that. But its weak on the other functions it has.

yeah said 4.6 0-60 for me wink

I noticed the 60' times are off a bit but the ET is usually within .05 of the track.

It's very important to know the exact weight of your car. if that is off then your times will be incorrect.

they are very fun to play with. also on the g-tech you can see your shift points and when you land your shifts. It's a great visual to show people how far outa lift they land rofl

The G-Tech is only accurate if you test it on a straightest smoothest road you can find (similar to the track). If your timing on a bumpy road, it will be off. Same if you timing on a road that has inclines/declines, it will be off. If your getting 0-60 in 4secs, then it must be that the road had a good decline in it, plus the bumpiness threw the timer off.

when you can pull a 1.9 60', a 4.X 0-60 isnt impossible.

the road is fairly straight and isnt bumpy. but yeah it's a lil bit off. measured at the track I actually ran a 4.8 0-60 thumbsup

Oops, I didn't realize it was you. If your pulling 13.7s, then I totally see a 4.x out of your car for sure. What about Spaztikid, can he really do that quick with another person in the car? confused

How does it compute HP? Displays the peak HP of a run derived from the acceleration? (to do this it would have to know the weight of the car)

I don't really know. I tried using that feature, but just doesn't seem accurate. You gotta put in the weight of your car exactly (so you gotta weight it at the track or truck scale somehow first), then go full throttle through all the gears. It will then estimate how much power you got. I don't trust the other functions, the results are real iffy.

wel i just got back from school and tried doing 0-60 because its actualy dry in cleveland pretty amazing and i was going down hill and got 6.4 0-60 but yes i beleive if you dont have starit road with no bumps it wont work because its very motion senstive.. and my friend got it for like 20$ or so but you wont find it that cheap.. you can get it around 50$ on ebay im pretty sure... i would go try some more and take pics but its raining right now or about to

I'd actually trust the timing function more then the HP function thumbsup

but really the key is knowing the EXACT weight of your car. the more off you are on the weight the farther off your car will be.

for example if you were to tell it your car weighed 5,000 lbs but it really weighed 2500, it would say you have a 300whp stock celica lol so it's only gonna be as accurate as you allow it to be.

a member and i went to a weigh station waaay back when i had my GT to try out the g-tech. it weighed at 2625..seems right since the GT weighs a tad below 2500lbs dry. i had some gas in the car plus me in it.

Next they'll develop your own little scale to drive onto and weigh the car with. That would be pretty cool.

2500 lbs. is around where a gts weighs dry...you have to compensate for all the fuids in your car (esp. gas) and you as well.

Celica dry = 2500lbs
Gas = 7.2lbs/gallon
Fuel Tank = 14.5 gallons
You = 155lbs

7.2 x 14.5 = 104.4lbs
104.4 + 155 = 159.4lbs
2500 + 156.4 = 2656.4lbs total
