My sisters 05 gt sounds like crap next to my 02 gts. She wants me to fix hers. I know gts's have more speakers. Do I need to replace inner panels with gts panels , in effected areas, to install the extra speakers?? The right extra speakers & amp will help right? (FYI Sony 12" x-ploids for $60 at walmart) also my factory cd player plays mp3's does the gt's play them?

GTs and GTSs will play burned cds, but not MP3 cds. I'm talking about the discs with a 100 tracks on it.

My speakers sound like they're going out. It wasn't obvious with my stock player, but this new aftermarket really brings out the sadness. thumbsdown

eh sony explods are still guna sound like ass. But I'm an audio freak so whatever. Yeah that's the speaker size posted above. The way the GTS works is the speakers in the door are "stacked" one on top of the other. One is bigger for low and the other is smaller for mid to high range. That happens on each side. That's where you get the extra speakers. The reason the GTS sounds better is because those speakers are all JBL. If you want to add extra speakers in a GTS style fasion, you'll have to fabricate and MDF (or whatever wood you want) custom mount for em. But if you swap em out for some better components it will sound better. Then again if she's not too concerned about supreme audio quality and just wants a stereo that sounds nicer, the xplods will help a bit. Get an aftermarket amp and amp the whole shabang. That'll help too.
