Celica Forums General Discussion Engine and Performance Yokohama tires

Hey, i was wondering if it is possible to upgrade my tires and rims to a set of 18's sporting one Yokohama AVS Sport tires. i was wondering if this tire set is too wide for the celica, or if there are any complications with these tires. if there is, what is the next best set that has max preformance but can be driven in wet weather?

I have 18" wheels with a 40mm offset and a 225-35-18 it fits great no rubbing... never had a problem with the tires.. check out tirerack for reviews on the AVS Sport.

225-35-18 with 42mm offset ... never rub but I need to check the tire pressure at least twice a week because low profile tires tend to wear faster

forgive my ignorance, but what is an offset? if this is where the wheel sticks out from the car giving it that redneck drag look, how can i minimize that, or eliminate it?
