ok so i got my catalic converter and resonator put back on. but my check engine light was still on. my friend guarenteed me they would go off after i reset the computer. so i unplugged the battery and reconnected it. check engine light went off.. then i drove it the next day and it went back on like 30 min into my drive. if the cat and resonator are both back in, and both the sensors are back, why is it still giving me this check engine light? should i take it back to the shop or to my dealership? im only at 13000 miles so i might be able to get something covered by warrenty. then again, i messed it up myself. any suggestions?

Take it to your local Toyota Dealership and have them run the codes... its probably your O2 sensor...

frown eNinja,
If the o2 sensors were in(connected)the cat or the resonator while they(cat and resonator) were gutted, The o2 sensors were probobly glazed by the extra heat and exhaust fumes. hope this makes sense, hard to explain...Then you put a new cat and resonator on the car w/ the original o2 sensors (not new ones) then the cat and resonator are good but the o2 sensors were damaged and need to be replaced.

Hope this helps, someone may be able to explain it better than me, you probobly messed up the o2 sensors when you gutted the parts. The dealership will read the codes the check engine light shoots and tell you.

hey man, Greddy, Tanabe, Apexi... Any of these exhaust are going to sound similar. Don't go wastin all your money to try to get your celica to sound like a tundra, "It aint gonna happin"
Be happy w/ the TRD. Its nice, sounds good not ricey, it performs, thats all you need man.

Go buy a Tundra or ask Chris Rado to build you a 1000hp 2.7 liter turbo Tacoma motor like he runs, lol just kiddin

redracer, thats exactly what i think happened too. the cat and resonator arent new tho. they are my old ones i took off. but i think the heat from the weilding might of damaged the o2 sensors. anyone know how much they run for? i already paid too much to get this far, i dont wanna have to fork up extra money to get this fixed. im going to take it back to the shop tomorrow. if they cant do anything for me, i guess ill go to my dealership and have them fix it. and im happy with my trd sound now. i didnt realize how much i liked it til it was taken away from me. thanx for all the help guys.
