Hey guys I need some advice, I installed a hondata intake manifold gasket about a week ago and there were 3 bolts left over. I didn't know what the roque specks were so I tightened them up until they were real tight the 1st time, today I dremeled it to fit the 3 extra bolts, which went fine. I then I got a hold of the torque specs in the tech section and it said 25 lbs, well I stripped the thread in the head where the intake manifold bolst in. So now the thing won't seal and i have a vacuum leak in my manifold. Anybody got an idea. I think autozone sells something to make new thread so I was thinking make the hole bigger w/ thread for an 11 sized bolt. Is there a better way?

damn how the hell did you do this? i had the thought of doing this but it seens imposible to get to the bolts, i did install one on my buddys car (RSX) it took us about 2 hours to do so, but the bolts for the rsx are visible and kinda easy to get 2, the ones on our cars are hard to even find. you should writhe a install guide to help pplz out on this, but yeah let me get to the point check my thread out it should help you out a lil
good luck click

Also, the thread that the bolts go into is stripped. Not the bolt.

if I use a tap and die would I have to increase the size of the whole? its currently a ten, would I have to bump it up to an 11?

Alright! solved the problem! I used a tap to re-thread the whole, but it turns out that the top of the whole was too stripped out and the bolts weren't long enough to reach past that point due to the MUCH thicker manifold gasket. So, I went to napa and baught 2 longer bolts w/ the same thread design and used a dremel to cut them to where I needed them. Hopefully they will stay and I won't have a vacuum leak while I'm driving. I'll post pics later
