Hello people. New to this site ofcourse. Honestly I joined this site to keep my car in decent shape since I plan on using it for a while. I don't know much about cars. Hehe. If you could help me with this it would be grealty appreciated. Thanks.

1. When one starts his/her car do you wait for the engine to warm up? Or you can just drive off?

2. I've noticed when I start my car and I am driving off..when I press the accelerator, my engine takes a while to speed up. It dosent speed up all of a sudden(even if I press the acceleator all the way down) notice it happens in the begenin, after a while its normal. I am just curious if anybody else relates to this?

...yes warm it up..it'll only help you in da long run..and for the second one???...u auto/stick????

you dont really need to warm up you car. You can just drive it and keep it under lets say 3-4k rpm until your car fully warms up and you'll be fine. As for your second question, i'm not quite sure. Do you have a gt or a gts also is it auto or manual. Our cars have very little torque. that might be the culprit here.

i'm sure you feel somewhat of a pull after 6200 rpm's. Thats lift being engaged. Its like an extra 40hp. Our car has very high compression and most of the power will be found in high rpms.

hmm yeah i do, it just takes time in the begening. i was guessing because the engine is getting old(75k+) thats why it takes time when it starts. but dont get me wrong after few mins its just fine. btw how long do you think a celica would last?? mileage i mean.

if you take good care of your car it should last you at least 150,000 miles without any major problems!

if you just started our car, its fine to drive off, it only takes about 1-2 mins for our car to warm up, i forgot what the reason was. but the only thing is go easy on the throttle when its cold becuase that when youll fuck up your valves, get that clattering noise.

It is good to warm up the car, because to fully protect your car the oil's viscosity needs to be at a certain temperature. Thats why driving a block to go to the store is bad for the car.
