I bought a crappy alarm system for my car about 2 years ago and now the siren doesn't go off. there is no sound. The lights flicker and the keyless works, its just the siren that doesn't work. When I play with the siren from where it is mounted it will temporarily work, then after I move it, there is no sound. Can I replace the siren with another or do I have to replace my whole alarm? I was thinking it is probably a short in the siren, maybe if I open it up I can see. Should I bother opening it?

Sounds like a loose wire. Crack it open, and check the contacts.

I would say since everything else is working, crack it open, and it is more then likely a loose wire.

Yeah, there is a loose wire somewhere, or your siren crapped out. If you need a new siren let me know. I have a few lying around. I'll send it to you for free.

How easy is it to install just a regular car alarm. Basically need the function for me to unlock the car with the button instead of having to manually do it myself.

Any ideas?

its in valet mode, read up on the programing to get it out of that mode. Sometimes if you hit either the lock or unlock button a few times fast in a row, it will take it out of it. I usually would just get pissed and hit it fast until it chirped again

No its not that because when I put pressure on the end of the siren, it works, but then after I let it go, it won't work. I already opened it but all the connections seem ok. It a crappy siren thumbsdown.
