does anyone know how to remove the center console, (the one with the cup holder and where the hand brake sits) so i can paint it? like which screws to take out and is it a difficult procedure?

its easy there is a guide on how to remove it on this site just go to installs and it should be there! hope that helps

thanks but i checked there and all i can find is the console where the ac panel and stereo is, im looking for the long part where the two cup holders are that extends near the back seat with the storage compartment.

I do, it's not too bad at all. Off the top of my head...
remove the carpet from the storage compartment and unscrew the two screws there. There are also two screws over by the ac i believe. I forget where the rest of the screws are. But it's not hard at all, only tricky part is realizing that there are screws in the storage area.

to install a short shifter its the same procedure..so wouldnt the instructions be there too???
