I was tired of my Optima red top, its been a little over a year now and I let the red top drain too many times.. Working on the car with my system on will do this.. It just wouldnt hold a charge properly anymore..

So I headed down to Autozone, the place where bought it, the guy gave me full credit on the red top, $109 and I paid the difference to the yellow top, $50 and he even loaned me tools off the shelf so I could change it out right then and there and not have to come back to drop of the red top... A pleasant exchange if I do say so myself...

BIG difference in start up.. even sounds better spineyes The thing that blows my mind is that it feels like the gears r shifting better too.. can anyone fill me in confused

PS: thumbsup thumbsup for the guys at Autozone

if you keep playing your system when the car is not on you will drain this battery also. Just a little heads up.

Well no you're not crazy. You say you never let it charge all the way so when you turned on your car it wasn't getting as much ignition as it could get. I think what you're hearing is what it should sound like normally! You just haven't heard it in so long it blows your mind! As for the tranny I have no idea. I think Id have to agree with the other guy. it's all in your head. If you think the car sounds better and starts better you'll have a higher expectation on how the car will react in general. What your minds eye perceives as a new improved start might effect how you see the rest of its performance.

well i know the meaning behind the start up sounding better becuz the new battery handles the load better so thats not whats baffling me...

however the smoother shifting still does.. Trust me im not an idiot who thinks changing a battery improves shifting, but im sure having a better electrical system helps in some miniscule way or another confused Thats what I was getting at ...
