I know this topic has been touched on, but I would like to clarify a few things b/c I was thinking of purchasing the AEM for my GTS. Those of you who have an AEM (or CAI for that matter), what do you think? Noticable differenec in HP? Furthermore, this bogging thing sounds like a big funkin pain in the ass, how is it caused? Shitty installation? Or simply how it is? Better yet, how do I prevent it? Is there any difference in the way a CAI behaves in the winter as compared to mild/hot weather? Any help would be appreciated.

BTW Those of you who have read/replied the "Condensation buildup in headlight" thread, thanks for the help. I am painting and re-sealing the headlights this weekend, I've cleared a day, found a wingman, and buying some beers... I will post pictures, cheers!

most like it, aem has low end gain, so not much bogging and that is due to the mechanics of the CAI.
CAI = COLD air intake, that's a no brainer on what kinda air it likes.

it seems that the aem gains around 6-7whp from stock and 3-4whp from a preson who already has an exhaust (an i/e gts is around +9-10whp).

i have it and it seems to have gains across the powerband. aem was my second choice...if CARB was not an issue i would go with TPR

Sorry for the ignorant question... CARBS has in carbondioxide... I'm assuming? What is the legal issue concerning TPR?

I have an AEM CAI on my '04 GTS, and I noticed a decent gain (maybe some of it was in my head, but there is definately a gain!).

Anyway, bogging is caused by the mechanics of the CAI, and can't be helped without changing up the intake itself. The bogging really isn't a problem under 3k RPM, so I wouldn't really worry about it (no power that low anyway!).

And it performs MUCH better when it's cold out smile

Its a resonable easy install. Me and a friend of mine took about 30-40 min to put it in.The only pain is the plastic fenderwell you have to cut to fit the piping.
