Ok somehow the passenger side armrest got a rip in it. I have no idea how it happened. Does anyone know how I (refering to the pic below under interior trim) get the grip assist (#8) off of the arm rest (#9) because it costs 100 bucks from the dealer and who knows how much to install. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you take the door panel off and see if it is connected from the inside?

It is fabric but...in order to recover it w/ one solid piece of fabric i need to remove the grip assist.

The big circle is where the armrest is (the part that is ripped) and the little circle shows the grip assist connecting to the armrest. I want to disconnect the grip assist from the armrest. (BTW this is not my car obviously)

(For no power windows) If you have a handle on your window and no power windows you need to remove a clip behind the window handle to remove the entire door panel.

1. Remove bolts holding the door panel.
2. Pull outward gently through the sides of the door panel until you hear the plastic plugs pop out.
3. Remove cables from door locks and disconnect any electrical devices such as power mirror switch control.
4. Remove the screws that hold the armrest together
5. Once the armrest is out. Their will be couple screws holding the armrest together unscrew.

Finish the job!

There are a couple of screws that hold it the armrest handle you need to take apart the whole door to get to it. Not hard at all thumbsup

Just get some foam and re-wrap it it'll cost you so much less you can make it any color you want very easy to replace. If you don't want to remove the leather that is torn just wrap over it no biggy and beats putting adhesive. Just wrap it tightly and make sure you lock the edges with metal clips so you don't glue or staples. Here's something I did back then with redsuede. Had to re-do it because the suede would leave prints when you sweat.

Ya know what I mean so if you got a sweaty butt. Buttprints. cry It's all good lesson learned. thumbsup
