Do you mean when you redline it in first, and then quickly shift to second it does that?

That happened to me too a lot before I changed my tranny oil. I don't know what else it would be?

Happens to me at times too, grinding and some times 2nd gear will not go in or down shifting to first. I took my car to the dealership and they test drove my car. The tech told me its normal and told me to press the clutch pedal all the way down and to release the clutch pedal when the gear goes in. He drove my car hard, downshifting from 6th gear to second, 1st gear at 7000 rpms to 2nd gear and said car my car is running like new.

YOu got bad synchros man! Same thing happend to me when I would downshift into 4th from 5th and 6th gear going over 40MPH. Go get your tranny replaced if its covered under the toyota factory power train warranty because thats what I did.
